POSITION OVERVIEW:   

OTV is looking for an organized and detail-oriented Program Coordinator who is passionate about intersectional media, artist development, and content distribution to join our dynamic team. This role reports to both the Head of Marketing + Exhibition and the Head of Development + Production. The Program Coordinator will serve as a key liaison between the Marketing & Exhibition and Development & Production departments, ensuring the seamless execution of OTV’s artist development initiatives, content distribution strategies, and overall program management. In addition to coordinating OTV’s diverse programming pipeline, this role will play a crucial part in managing artist relations and ensuring the successful exhibition of content via the OTV platform. The Program Coordinator will also help amplify OTV’s commitment to intersectional storytelling by supporting community development efforts through public activations, screenings, and coalition-building opportunities. PROFILE OVERVIEW: 
The Program Coordinator at Open Television (OTV) is a highly organized and adaptable professional responsible for ensuring seamless coordination between the Marketing & Exhibition and Development & Production departments. With a focus on artist development, content distribution, and program management, this role supports the execution of OTV’s diverse programming initiatives and amplifies the organization’s commitment to intersectional media and storytelling. The Program Coordinator will manage artist relations, oversee content distribution via the OTV platform, and contribute to community-building efforts through public activations, screenings, and exhibitions. This is an ideal role for someone passionate about independent film and storytelling who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.


Core Responsibilities // Essential Functions:


PROGRAM COORDINATION & ADMINISTRATION

  • Serve as a central point of contact between the Marketing & Exhibition and Development & Production departments, ensuring smooth coordination of all OTV programs and other key initiatives.

  • Assist with the creation and implementation of program timelines, ensuring that deadlines are met and resources are allocated appropriately for all departmental programs.

  • Track and report key performance indicators for OTV’s programs, helping to compile metrics and insights that measure the impact and success of both marketing and production activities.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT & ENGAGEMENT

  • Support the management of OTV’s community development pipeline, including the planning and execution of public activations, screenings, exhibitions, and coalition-building opportunities.

  • Collaborate with the Head of Marketing & Exhibition to ensure effective communication, promotion, and exhibition of core OTV programs to diverse audiences.

  • Research and compile data on OTV’s digital footprint, emerging trends, and audience engagement to identify opportunities to activate and mobilize intersectional storytellers and expand OTV’s reach.

  • Support the development and execution of a robust engagement strategy that sustains current audience relationships while strategically expanding OTV’s presence into new markets.

MARKETING & EXHIBITION SUPPORT

  • Assist in implementing and tracking goals for audience development and maintenance at local, national, and international levels.

  • Support the development of market-ready concepts and initiatives that balance the needs of established audiences with efforts to reach new audiences, both online and offline.

  • Help implement a robust marketing communications strategy and calendar that prioritizes the amplification of OTV’s mission, marquee programs, and content from intersectional storytellers featured on the #OTVAPP.

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of public activations that foster social, political, and cultural dialogue, encouraging artist and community engagement.

  • Support the planning and implementation of OTV’s exhibition calendar, including digital releases, live streams via the #OTVAPP, showcases, and public events at the OTV Studio.

  • Maintain detailed records and an asset library of all content exhibited via the #OTVAPP and across OTV’s various social media platforms and properties.

CONTENT & PROGRAM PRODUCTION SUPPORT

  • Collaborate with the Head of Development & Production to support in-house productions that advance OTV’s strategic priorities and help amplify marquee programs.

  • Assist with content distribution and ensure the timely mobilization of artists’ work for exhibition via the #OTVAPP.

  • Manage the coordination and logistical support for production activities, including access to OTV’s equipment and resources.

  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure smooth operations of productions and public activations.

CROSS-DEPARTMENTAL COLLABORATION

  • Actively participate in regular cross-departmental meetings and strategy sessions, ensuring alignment between exhibition, and development teams to optimize program outcomes.

  • Work closely with all team members to ensure OTV’s programs and public-facing initiatives are strategically executed and reflective of the organization’s values and priorities.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS // MISCELLANEOUS DETAILS


COMMITMENT:

Full-Time Opportunity with a competitive compensation plan and benefits package for a Chicago-based resident. 

  • This role is a hybrid between remote (70%) and on-site (30%) commitments; 

  • You will need to have access to reliable and routine transportation between your residence and the Chicagoland area; 

  • The OTV Studio space is located in Humboldt Park, Chicago;  

  • 2-4 times a month the team will gather at the OTV Studio for co-working, meetings and programs; 

  • You'll be responsible for traversing all over the Chicagoland area and additional travel as needed.

EXPERIENCE 

  • 3+ years of experience in Film/TV Production and or related industries

  • Experience in non-profit organizations and/or arts administration is preferred, with an understanding of artist development, programming and exhibition.

EDUCATION 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 

  • Valid driver’s license: C-Class 

SPECIALIZED SKILLS 

  • Experience with managing projects within G-suite

  • Self-motivated with keen strategic, analytical and creative skills

  • Passion for cinema and other audio-visual artistic mediums. 

  • Proven track record of ability to work with a wide range of skill-sets, talents, experiences and identities 

  • Strong management and interpersonal skills  

  • Working knowledge of non-for-profit art organizations and/or cultural institutions 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, time-management, project management and problem-solving skills  

  • Experience in the entertainment, media and/or arts administration industries 

  • Deep knowledge of film industry and/or independent film

SPECIALIZED  KNOWLEDGE: 

  • Non-Profit Sector: Familiarity with the non-profit sector, including its operational dynamics and funding structures.

  • Media and Storytelling: An interest in or understanding of media and storytelling, particularly intersectional narratives, is beneficial.
