OTV Fellows is an annual fellowship program that identifies and mobilizes intersectional storytellers ready to create a sustainable career in the film/tv industry through stipends, mentorship and general consultation. This career-long independent education and mentorship-based Initiative empowers strong writers, directors and producers to bring their web series, shorts-films, pilots and video art to life.
Launched in 2019, OTV Fellows activates the next generation of storytellers who are eager to share they bravery with the world. Applications typically open Q4 of each year and are due by Q1 of the following the year. Each cohort term takes place between June-December. Applicants for 2024 are now closed.

Each year the fellowship evolves to the meet the needs of cohort while also factoring in the shifts taking shape within the wider media landscape. We are currently mobilizing storytellers who are in development and are writing a script for a web series, pilot, short-film or video art. In the past, our fellowship has supported artist in production, post-production and distribution. To celebrate five years of Open Television's annual fellowship program we're launching Pitch, Please! — an artist-driven launch pad for intersectional storytellersseeking additional funding and resources to take their projects to the next level.
Brought to a screen near you, three #OTVFellows had the opportunity to pitch their series, short-films and video art concepts to a panel of Creative Advisors and #OTVcommunity members for a chance to secure over $30,000 resources and prizes.
